The Most Important Thing in Life - Knowing God
Is it really possible to have a personal relationship with the all-powerful God who created all things, and is the Sovereign Ruler of the whole universe? Is it possible to come into the presence of a Holy God who is separated from humanity because of sin? Not only is it possible, but The One True God has clearly shown that this is the desire of His heart.
God created us for Himself – therefore the most important thing in life should be to focus on getting to know Him.
Let’s keep the first thing first!
What an Awesome God We Have. Part One
Yahweh – our God – is so awesome and glorious; so high and exalted; with authority and powers that are way beyond our comprehension; and He is holy – so absolutely majestic and so totally perfect in His whole being that He is set apart from all created things.
As we get to know this extraordinary God, it should lead us to stand in awe of Him, and to give our whole being as a living sacrifice to Him as an act of true worship.
What an Awesome God We Have. Part Two.
Yahweh, our God, is truly awesome. In Part One, we have been learning what He reveals about Himself in the very special gift of His Word to us – He is so awesome and glorious; so high and exalted; with authority and powers that are way beyond our comprehension. He is the sovereign ruler over all creation; working out His universal plans, with the intent that one day He will create a new heavens and a new earth, where those who have become part of His family will spend eternity in His glorious presence.
God will personally reveal Himself – through His Word, and by His Spirit – to those who diligently seek Him with all their heart so that they might know Him more intimately; and who commit themselves to walk in His ways and to truly love Him with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their mind.
What an Awesome God We Have. Part Three.
This is the third booklet within the theme: 'What an Awesome God We Have'. The more we delve into what God's Word reveals about Himself, the more we appreciate the awesomeness of our Yahweh and His Son Jesus. Even though He is incomprehensible to our limited intellectual capabilities, by the grace of God, He has given us His Holy Spirit to reveal the deep things of God to us.
In this booklet the primary focus is on 'The Unsearchable Riches of Christ'. Jesus is 'the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being', and as such He was the living example of Yahweh. The riches of Christ are immeasurable; boundless; unfathomable. And yet, as we diligently seek to know Him more, the Holy Spirit will open our spiritual eyes to see more of those riches.
God's Purposes for Humanity. Part One
Yahweh Almighty is the One who created all things, and who has purposes in everything He does, and all He allows to happen in the whole universe. His predominant purpose in all creation was to establish for all eternity a glorious Kingdom ruled by a God who is loving, compassionate, and gracious – and who is also holy, righteous and just.
In His creation God predetermined to create for Himself a people with the freedom to choose either to submit to His loving and caring Lordship, or to living for their own self-satisfaction; and thereby eventually suffering His righteous judgement. But as we know, Adam and Eve made the wrong choice, resulting in all people having an independent nature – driven by our own selfish desires – ‘it’s all about me’. However, because God is our Maker, life is supposed to be ‘all about Him’; His Kingdom; and His purposes.
God's Purposes for Humanity. Part Two
As we have said from the beginning, the most important thing in the life of a Christian is to know the One True God – Yahweh – and His purposes for us as His created beings. And as we continue to explore the purposes that He has for us, we will learn more about the things that are so vital for all true believers if we are to develop our relationship with God. This will include our unity with Christ; our being transformed into His image; understanding God's call to be holy and blameless; to live by faith, obedience, and dependence on God; and more.
…yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. 1Corinthians 8:6
God's Purposes For Humanity. Part Three
This is the final booklet in this whole series from which we have been learning much about the unquestionable importance of knowing God and His purposes for us as His created beings. I trust that you have come to appreciate more of Yahweh's awesome greatness; and also as we have been addressing in these booklets, His compassionate and loving objectives and desires for humanity – Yahweh is a gracious and merciful God.
